Bolt's Antique Tool Museum
to open May 6

The Bolt's Antique Tool Museum in Historic Downtown Oroville, will have its grand opening celebration May 6, at 9 a.m. and the public is invited.
 

The museum's collection is considered by many to be the world's most comprehensive display on the evolution of hand tools, with more than 8,400 examples of hand-made and production tools.

City crews are hard at work upgrading the exterior of the building and constructing a parking area complete with curbs and sidewalks. The public is invited to the museum¹s grand opening celebration on May 5, at 9 a.m.


 

     The museum is located at 1650 Broderick St. Refreshments, presentations and tours will be offered during the grand opening.

     The museum's inventory is the private collection of Bud and Laila Bolt, who have collaborated with the City of Oroville to develop the collection into a public museum at a new facility in Historic Downtown Oroville.

     The new facility is a City of Oroville-owned building in Oroville Historic District. Once open, the inventory and facility will be a major addition to the city's already rich collection of pioneer-era history and museums.

     Soon after the museum opens, audio tours and other tools to help people discover the histories of each section in the collection.

     The opening for the museum is part of Feather Fiesta Days, Oroville's largest community event of the year.

     The Bolt's Antique Tool Museum will be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on May 6 for the grand opening. From May 7-14, the museum will be open from noon-4 p.m. for Feather Fiesta Days. Evening tours are available upon request.

     During the grand opening, commemorative "Tool Hunting Licenses" will be given away.
